This past Saturday, the corporate office of On The Border, a nationwide Tex-Mex chain, announced plans to implement a new directive, aimed at solving the problems they have recently had with seating shortages. “We don’t have room under our roof, but there is plenty of shade from the building outside, It’s not much different from a pavilion” one employee said.

The company’s objective to complete this task by Aug 27, one month from the day of the announcement, was met with skepticism from a few store managers, though many showed great enthusiasm. Matt Hood, the company CEO said, “It can be tough to think about changes, but we’re going to do this. We’re going to do this, and the added customers will pay for it.”

The extra space is going to be used for those that can’t produce a valid drivers license or green-card, except for those from East L.A., who the company says are exempt from I.D. checks. When asked why he wanted it done so quickly, Matt said, “We are out of space to hold them and we have no way to promptly return them back to their own restaurant”.
