Earlier this year, homeschoolers, Vision Forum followers, and Gothard-ites alike were devastated to hear that Joshua Harris had repented and recanted for teaching teens to practice abstinence.

Late in 2017, Josh directed and starred in a documentary called 'I Survived I Kissed Dating Goodbye', because his book was "a curse to the world". Interviewing several people who had bought the book in their teens, he seemed quite happy to hear that so many had utterly rejected his original thesis, and understood completely why people don't like to be called out on their sin.

“I just feel awful for telling young folks to save their hearts and remain sexually pure until marriage,” he said in an interview. “Now that I look back on it, I can’t believe how foolish I was. I mean, who am I to judge others on personal beliefs regarding fornication?” He now apologizes to everyone who stayed virgins until married, and encourages both young and old to “have fun while you can”.

He is also divorcing his wife of 20 years for undisclosed reasons, and explains them away by saying “I mean, I wanted to be a good example to those too lazy to make a marriage work. People need someone to look up to! I hope to be as much of a role model as Hugh Hefner one day.”

To anyone that still has a receipt for the purchase of Harris' first book, "I Kissed Dating Goodbye", Josh has agreed to repay the buyer 4x as much as original price. "If anyone heeded the wisdom in it, I'm sorry. I know I was wrong. I can't take it back, but I can give you $59.28!"
